Registration for the 2021/2022 School Year

NOTE: Please review our 2021-2022 Parent Handbook before registering.

Steps to Register:

  1. Please fill out the On-line Registration form found below. A non-refundable $60 registration fee is due via PayPal at the point of registration and is required in order for a spot to be held in a class for your child. NOTE: After clicking “Submit” at the end of the registration form, a message will open with a link to pay the registration fee through PayPal. Some web browsers may automatically block the redirect to PayPal and the link will be lost. If this happens to you, please come back here and use this link after you have submitted your registration form: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=H9MANBA8CFHT6
  2. After receiving your registration, the registrar will contact you within 1-2 days with a conditional confirmation for your child.
  3. Once you receive confirmation that a spot is being held for your child, you are required to fill out all forms attached within 10 days. These forms provide the preschool with the required bank information for the schools fees and fines. Unless this information is received within the required timeframe, your spot is held but not confirmed, and may be given to another eligible family.
  4. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis (no lottery).

Registration Requirements 2021/2022

Once a registration is completed, and after the Registrar has provided written confirmation of a child’s spot at the preschool, all families have ten (10) business days to submit their bank information.

Registration Fee

$60 per child, per school year (non-refundable, to be paid at time of registration via PayPal).

Supplies Fee

$50.00 per child for children beginning before the winter break and will be withdrawn once the child attends their first day of preschool (for those starting on the first day of the school year, the Supplies fee will be withdrawn with the first Program Fee on September 1, 2021). For children starting after January 1, 2022, the fee is $25 per child.

Program Fee

(September – June) fees for the 1st day of each month:

Three-year-old program

Tuesday and Thursday

Morning session: 9:00-11:15 a.m.

$130/month

Three- and Four-year-old combined program

Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Afternoon session: 1:00-3:15 p.m.

$165/month

Four-year-old program

Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Morning session: 9:00-11:15 a.m.

$165/month

One clear calendar month notice is required on vacating a space during the year. Your child may attend school during the notice period. If a place is booked before school commences in September, any cancellation must be made before August 1st to ensure return of September fees. On or after August 1st, the one-month notice applies and September’s monthly fee is non-refundable.

School Fines

  • Fundraising Fines: $200/term
  • Parent Job Fine: $100

* A fine is only withdrawn if a parent does not complete the related duty (i.e. fails to participate in fundraising activities or does not complete their Parent Job).  Written notice is given before any fines are withdrawn.

COVID-19 Fee

$50 per child, per school year (for those starting on the first day of the school year, the COVID-19 fee will be withdrawn with the first Program Fee on September 1, 2021). If a child starts after January 1, 2022, the special fee is reduced to $25 per child. Due to the ever-changing COVID-19 situation, this fee can be removed during the school year depending on circumstances and operational requirements detailed by the government and at the discretion of the Executive Parent Board. This fee covers the cost of increased cleaning regimes, increased supplies, and increased cleaning supplies and special tools to keep the school functioning according to government guidelines.

Holding Places

Children must be three years old in order to attend Malmo Pre-kindergarten. If a child does not turn three years old before December 31, 2021, they can start at the beginning of the school year with “visit days” where a parent/guardian must stay with them during the class.  A student can then attend class without an adult after their third birthday. Parents are still required to pay all monthly fees. This situation is dependent on the COVID-19 situation and guidelines and can be discussed with the Registrar when necessary.
